Comanche High School is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as an English teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. Individuals serving in this position will be responsible for the creation of lesson plans, adapting and implementing curriculum, providing academic support to students, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment. In addition, the position requires the individual to manage many tasks, communicate often with stakeholders, and work in challenging situations.
Candidates are expected to foster student engagement, ensure productivity, and promote a healthy and challenging environment in which Literacy flourishes.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Utilizing district resources to enhance or address gaps in the curriculum.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure student success.
Assess students to determine levels of understanding and identify areas of need.
Accurately and consistently follow district grading policy.
Promote Literacy through varied involvements.
Accurately and consistently follow the expectations of the curriculum and the creation of said curriculum.
Utilize technology and have an understanding of the Google Suite.
Grow as an educator through continuous professional development.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's degree and certification in Secondary English
Desire to promote Literacy throughout the district
Patience, Understanding, and Communication skills
Dedication to district goals and growth
Ability to work with others
