The Comanche Board of Education met in a regular session on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. Board Members approved various routine consent agenda items, including the minutes of the January board meeting, activity fund reports, and the treasurer’s report. The board also approved General, Co-Op, and Building Fund encumbrances.
Jason Schriener presented to the board the Annual Dropout report. Mr. Schriener also shared the last available school profile from the Office of Educational Quality and Accountability. College remediation data indicated that for the 23-24 school year, CHS had 22 first-time freshmen, with 2 of those students needing remediation classes. That represents a 14.9% drop from the previous year.
Bills discussed the upcoming audit. The fiscal year 2025 independent audit report will be presented by officials from the accounting firm of Patten & Odom, CPAs, PLC, during the March school board meeting. Bills commended Tonya Morgan, Elizabeth Ressel, Terry Davidson, and Stacey Bowen for their meticulous attention to detail in preparing the audit-supporting documentation.
Superintendent Bills also shared the progress on the cleanup from the water line break in the elementary during the cold weather. CCR Restoration did a great job cleaning up. Students seemed to enjoy their adventures to the other buildings, where they were housed for a few days, during the initial cleanup.
Bills shared with the board that student organizations have been active. Bills updated the board on the various organizational and athletic activities that are going on during this time of year. She highlighted boys' wrestling, girls' wrestling, basketball, band, FFA activities, and Speech/Drama/Debate.
Superintendent Bills announced Brinkley Nichols is the Class of 2026 Valedictorian. Co-Valedictorians are Holliser Pollock, Kenzie Morgan, Ava Foraker, and Addyson Downey.
The Salutatorian is Bryson Goedhart.
