School Board Appreciation

During the month of January, we have the opportunity to recognize the men and women who share their time, vision, and voice on our local school board. School Board Recognition Month is a time to celebrate the accomplishments of our district, thanks to the dedication and passion our school board members have for providing a solid education for our students.

Comanche is thankful for Charlie Gay, Thomas Winton, Amy Shelby, Cody Gerard, and Cheryl Pannell who serve on our local school board. We hope during School Board Recognition Month you will join us in celebrating the hard work of our elected board members.

Charlie, Thomas, Amy, Cody, and Cheryl are an integral part of the Comanche family. They help develop important school policies, manage the annual budget, plan school bond initiatives to provide vital funding to our schools, and make tough decisions on complex educational and social issues. Our school board ensures our students have every opportunity possible to make them successful members of our community and society.

Our school board members carry out the truest form of representative government in our democracy – volunteer public service – and they preserve the core of our democratic society – public education.

We do not always recognize the dedication and hard work of these public servants elected to represent the interests of the students. Now is the time to do just that. Let them know you appreciate what they do for our community.
