Coach Robinson

Gary Robinson has been named Head Varsity Football Coach at Comanche High School for the 2023-24 School Year. Mr. Robinson will follow Casy Rowell who will continue to lead the wrestling program. Mr. Robinson will also serve as an instructor at the middle school and high school.

Robinson brings a plethora of experience to the position, including the building of a football program from the beginning at Krum ISD.  Coach Robinson has decided to continue his coaching career in Oklahoma after retiring from the Texas public education system.

Coach Robinson spent this last season helping Grandfield rebuild their football program.  Previous to Grandfield, he spent 3 years at Joshua High School and 9 years at Krum High School.  In total, he has over 13 years of experience as a head football coach and another 12 years of experience as an assistant football coach at Coppell Texas.

Superintendent Julie Bills made the announcement following the January board meeting.   “Mr. Robinson has a strong history of football knowledge, the building of successful programs, and the mentoring of football students and coaches. I am excited to see him become a part of the Comanche family,” Bills said.

Robinson stated that being at Comanche is an opportunity to be a part of a great school district and community.  “I'm looking forward to working with the students and staff at Comanche Public Schools!”  Robinson said.  “My goal is to promote the game. The football program should provide an area of moral enrichment, discipline, teamwork, and mental toughening. Further, the program should reflect the personality of the school and the community.”

Athletic Director Sean Hushbeck announced that a meeting will be arranged in the near future for Coach Robinson to visit with students, assistant coaches, and parents.
