The Comanche Indian Boys and Girls Junior High Wrestling team competed this weekend at the Annual Junior High All-State Tournament. This tournament consisted of all classes and over 2600 total entries. Some weights had over 90+ wrestlers.

The Comanche Boys finished with one placer in Erik Roy (5th). Erik had 67 kids in his weight class and went 6-2 during the tournament, losing to the 3rd and 4th place finisher. Erik will compete at regionals in 2 weeks for the high school for an opportunity to qualify for the High School State Championships.

The Comanche Girls finished with two placers including a 3rd place finish by Celina Quezada and a historic 1st place finish for Brook West. Celina went 3-1 on the weekend losing to the eventual Champion in the semi-finals. She is just one of the few girls to ever place at the Junior High All-State Tournament from Comanche. Celina will also compete at Regionals in the Girls' division in one week for the opportunity to become a State Qualifier in High School. Finally, Brook West went 3-0 on the weekend securing a Junior High State Championship. She is not only the first girl to accomplish this from Comanche but the first girl in Stephens County to do so. Brook will have an opportunity in the next few weeks to one-up that accomplishment by potentially getting to wrestle at High School State. She would make history again if she wins.
